Wednesday is here! Woo! One more day closer to the weekend!

What are you wishing for today? Something in particular on your Christmas list? My number one is this gorgeous watch! Dear Santa...

Tortoise shell and rose gold just melts my butter!*

Have a good one, friends! :)

*I love that phrase "melts my butter" - I am borrowing it from Cassie, one of my favorite bloggers (especially for DIY projects!) on Hi Sugarplum! Go check her out!

Linking Up!

I'm so happy Monday is just about over. I tell ya, getting back into the swing of things and out of sweatpants sure is exhausting.

Today I thought I would participate in Holly and Chelsea's Make it My Own Monday theme. Actually, I read their posts today over lunch and realized that I was participating unintentionally! I guess all of that pinning is starting to sink in ;)

So, a couple of pictures (sure, one was in the work ladies room. Whateves.), a quick post, and voila! I'm officially linking up with other bloggers.

So here is their inspiration outfit from Pinterest:

And here is my version:

My scarf is too short to tuck in with the belt, but aside from that I think it's pretty similar, no? Nothing I am wearing is even close to new, either!

Jeans: 4 or possibly 5 years ago from good 'ol Gap
Boots: Hunter (from Nordstrom)
Tank: Nordstrom Rack
Grey shirt: J. Crew
Purple belt: Lord & Taylor
Cardigan: F21
Necklace: Tiffany's (graduation gift!)
Scarf: J. Crew (another gift!)
Earrings: not sure...online somewhere? I should know this since they're my favorite!
Headband: not even kidding, I got it from Michael's for a whopping $1 hahaha

Head on over to visit Holly and Chelsea to view their cute renditions!

Halftime = Blog Time

Happy Sunday, readers!

I hope all of you had fun Thanksgiving weekends. I don't know about you, but I'm not ready for it to end...or to get out of my stretchy pants!

I am devoting this halftime post to winter nail polish colors. I am aware that you can't go wrong with deep red colors, but I am curious if other seasonal shades should stuff my stocking this year.

One article said bright! Another, earthy and nude. Then the average metallic and red and everything I already thought about doing myself. Yawn. Sure I only looked at the first few articles in a Google search, but c'mon. Halftime is only a few minutes. Priorities, ladies.

OK so the aforementioned sites were I guess helpful, but nothing made me say "Wow!" like the new Essie collection and two pictures from my Pinterest. Dear Santa...

Now that's what I'm talking about.

Go Steelers!!!!!

Thankful Thursday

Looking back on the last year it's amazing to think of everything for which I am thankful. Sure there have been bumps in the road, but I'm thankful for my friends, my family, finishing school, getting a job I love, being brave enough to move, blogging even though I'm not the best blogger out there, memories of events from the past year...God is good and life is good. Thank you for reading and inspiring me to blog. And, to stay true to my Little Bit of Sass Thursday theme, here are two sassy pictures for your Turkey Day! (There are plenty more pictures on my pinterest boards if you're interested!)

Solid Sunday

Went to Mass? Check. Watched the Steelers win at a bar? Check. Threw some dollar bills on the stage at a drag show? Check. Andrew surprised me with Pizza Hut? Check. Yep, I'd say that's a solid Sunday right there.

I'll do a recap of the weekend in tomorrow's post. For now I'm just simmering in my stellar day. I will leave you with this picture, because it's like my day: AWESOME.

Wishful Wednesday

Photobucket

Whaddup Wednesday?!?! So happy you're here. We're now halfway through the week...and actually more so for me: our company decided to take off Friday! Woot! So this post needs to be quick; I'm currently enjoying some Green Giant Steamers and need to get back to reporting so I can actually take off all of Friday!

Two blog posts compelled me to write this Wishful Wednesday post. First, Mimi from Irresistible Icing again inspired me with her honest commentary on her road to weight loss. Her recent post was about how her life happiness related to her weight. As I read it I reflected on my own happiness correlated with my weight. It's funny because when I was at my thinnest senior year at Otterbein I was also the unhappiest I've ever been. This could possibly be due to the looming graduation-without-a-job factor, the large amount of responsibility, or just the sheer fact that I was president of my sorority, it was basically the worst year to date that I can recall. No matter how much weight I lost I still wasn't happy.

This is odd because now I feel like I could be happier with myself if I lost weight since I know I can do it. Maybe in the back of my mind that's why I struggle with losing weight this time around: when I was thin I was unhappy and yet I'm happy now but want to be thin. Luckily I'm at a different point in my life and am wholly happy with everything that doesn't look back at me in the mirror. It's weird to equate happiness with my weight, so hopefully I can remind myself that I'll be happy no matter what weight I am. Wishful thinking :)

My thought process further triggered a blog post once I saw the image on a {little} dash of ash's post today:

Maybe I should just focus on being happy and the weight (and mirror) will deal with itself. Are any of you wishing for happiness this Wednesday?

PS follow Irresistible Icing and a {little} dash of ash! They are fantastic blogs!

Little Bit of Class Tuesday

Photobucket
Hey everyone!

Today's post is devoted to my new shoes. One of my favorite bloggers on one of my favorite blogs, Aspiring Kennedy, wrote a post a couple of weeks ago about new flats she found where she lives in England. She bought a few pairs in different sizes and offered to mail them to her readers since she knew the lovely gems were not available in the States. I quickly commented on her post about my love for her blog, for the shoes, and gave her my shoe size. Today at work I opened a package of glittery goodness! Thank you to Aspiring Kennedy for adding a both classy and sassy spring to my step in these lovely flats! Follow her blog! It's so fun!

Halftime = Blog Time

Hey everyone!

I hope your weekend was fun and/or relaxing. Mine was thankfully both! First and foremost, my sister, her husband, and their daughter Lady Lizzie are in town! We met up for a yummy breakfast, went to my brother-in-law's sister's baby shower, Andrew and I babysat Lizzie, went to Mass and brunch today, and they're going to visit me for lunch tomorrow before heading back to California. It's been fantastic! It is incredible how quickly Lizzie has grown since I saw her in May - she is now walking and talking! Her favorite statement? "Happy day!" Yep. She's a happy baby and it's awesome. Enjoy a few pics and Go Steelers!!!

OK fine this is from two weeks ago, but c'mon - that's an amazing trick-or-treat outfit!

Lizzie all dressed up for her future cousin's baby shower!

This one is going in a frame. Andrew and I loved babysitting her!

Elizabeth knows how to use a cell phone! lol

Little Bit of Class Tuesday

Photobucket

Well hello fair readers. I'm not feeling too classy today. As I reflect on my day so far (I'm eating my lunch currently) I can't help but wonder why on earth I claim to be classy at all. Would a classy girl fall asleep on the L every morning, wearing messy (and still wet) hair? Would a classy girl fix her hair at her desk without a mirror or a care in the world? Would she also munch on dry cereal and drink bad coffee out of a Styrofoam cup? Would she eat her cereal in such a careless manner that the balls of Kix scatter her surroundings, including her cleavage? Would she wear a shirt to work that exposes cleavage? Classy gals aren't disheveled and random, and alas, that is what I am today. I'm tired, I need to do laundry, and dry cereal rocks. C'est la vie.

I had a fantastic weekend and would love to share in prose and pics, but this Lean Cuisine isn't going to eat itself.

Here are some pictures to inspire me for a classier Wednesday, and please view more on my Pinterest "Classy" board.
