Little Bit of Sass Thursday

Happy Thursday!

I'm off work tomorrow, adding to my exciting week! What's up?
Well, not only have we spent this week with Holly and her boyfriend, but our friend Kim is also coming to town for the weekend! So much fun!!

Before we embark on this long weekend, I'd love to share some sass:

That's quite a sign.

I mean, it's true.

Why didn't I think of that?

I mean, really.

Mind = blown.

Makes me crack up every time I read it.

And now, my two favorite this week:

Enjoy your weekend and Happy Easter!!!

Little Bit of Class Tuesday

When you chat about fashion and hear the word "classy," what crosses your mind?

A particular style?

A specific designer?

A season?

For me, my mind promptly veers to kate.

From dots to stripes, bows to baubles, and colors to sparkles, kate spade sure knows the classy look. And as Spring (very slowly) approaches I am reminded why preppy and polished never go out of style.

Now if only I could afford any of it.

What about you?

Weekend Update

Mingle 240

{Linking up with SamiLeeann. and Meg!}
I am definitely not ready for the weekend to be over.
The only thing making me look forward to a Monday is that my BFF Holly is coming to Chicago this week!! She and her boyfriend are driving here tomorrow because they are teachers on Spring Break, those lucky ducks.
She's also one of my bridesmaids as my hometown rep in the bridal party!
So yeah, I'm pretty pumped to see her!!

On to the weekend!

First of all, Friday happened. I don't want to talk about the Georgetown loss.
Moving on.

Saturday was amazing! We slept in and watched MSU win while I ignored doing the laundry and my taxes. Oops. Later that evening I went with a lovely couple from our building to Cobra Lounge. I loved this bar: great atmosphere (and company!), low prices, delicious food, and fantastic beer list. I highly recommend it! It's apparently a metal bar, and even though that's not really my taste in music, we didn't see any live bands and the music on while we ate was pretty good.

Sunday was busy! I'm never busy on Sundays!

First off: an interesting Mass at Old St. Pat's. An actor performed the Palm Sunday Gospel and a guy played the electric guitar behind it. I seriously thought they were going to bust out some tunes from Jesus Christ Superstar, but alas I didn't hear "What's the Buzz?" or other rocking ditties.
(Ugh, now that song is in my head.)

Afterward I bought myself a little happy from Bobbi Brown and Benefit.

1 | 2 | 3

I'm super excited to try Benefit's Porefessional. I hate my giant pores so I'm hoping the reviews are right! I am also pumped for my new sparkle shadow from Bobbi. I got the Mica shade because the stylist said it looks amazing alone and over darker colors. Sold. The Bone shade is my go-to highlight for every day wear. I love love love it.

Then I met up with Maureen for the Chicago Bridal Expo at The Westin. I was expecting something...different. We accidentally ditched a giant line and went right on into the expo. Sorry I'm not sorry. Not one bit.

It was such a small expo. I wouldn't even call it an expo: it was basically a display. You'd think that in Chicago and the Chicago Bridal Expo that there would be more than one florist and more than one store pimping out their registry. Nope. A whopping 55 vendors were scheduled to be there, and it was prime competition for photo booths and photographers. The cupcake samples and giveaways I entered were about the only redeeming qualities...well, that and snickering about everything with Maureen. That was pretty enjoyable.

The florist was really funny and their display was pretty awesome.
If you're planning a soiree in the Chicago area you should check out Anthony Gowder Designs. I don't know about prices or reviews or honestly anything, but I liked who I met and what I saw...so basically I just wasted your time. Oh well.

After we breezed through The Chicago Bridal Display, Maureen and I walked through H&M and patted ourselves on the back for not buying anything. Closet = 0, but Wallet = 1.

The day wasn't over yet! Ditching those people in line at The Westin really saved us some time!

So what does a gal do on a Sunday afternoon in 35 degree weather (windchill barely in the 20s)?

Go to a soccer game of course!

Yep, Andrew had free tickets. We bundled up, picked up our friend Tom and went!

The Fire may have lost miserably, and I may have not felt my toes for a solid 4 hours today, BUT we had a lot of laughs and a great time. We're definitely planning to go to another game. In 70+ degree weather.

We are currently wrapping up the weekend in a Chipotle coma, under blankets by the fire, watching Bar Rescue.

The laundry is still waiting for me. My taxes will have to wait, too.
How was your weekend?

Little Bit of Sass Thursday

How ready are you for the weekend?
I challenge anyone to be more ready than me. What a week.

Let's sass it up, shall we?

Half peplum, all sass.

Not sure I could pull off a sequin blazer, but this lady makes me want to try it!

I've seen this a few times and it makes me smile every time.

So true. Someone should have told my 22-year old self this.

Source: expimage.com via Mary on Pinterest

I've never done that, but I believe it.
(And I kind of want to try it.)

This might as well be a picture of Teddy.

I'm stealing the pin's caption for this one:
"How many times did that have to happen before they put up a sign?"
I mean, really. Falling cows happen?

This one doesn't even need a caption.

Think about it.
Umm, yeah, I accept that challenge too.

And now for my favorite:

It's funny 'cuz it's true.
(Sorry for the "d" word, Mom!)

Almost Friday, Almost Friday, Almost Friday...

Wedding Wednesday

First something non-wedding related:

Well it happened.
Google Reader is no longer there for me.
I opened my Gmail on three different browsers and clicked on "More" and then on "Even More"...

...and, well, it is no more.

I thought I had until July. I thought I had more time!

Sigh. This is very upsetting. Seriously, has this happened to anyone else yet?
What's the deal, Google?!?! What did I ever do to you?????

AND THEN!

Andrew didn't believe me.
We looked together.
We clicked on "Bookmarks." Nothing. So we clicked on "More" again and BOOM!
My Reader was back!!!!!! Crisis averted!!!!

Maybe this visual will help. If not, let me know and I'll walk you through it.

Please pass on the info so it doesn't happen to friends!

AND THEN (AGAIN!)

Andrew looked at the image I created and said, "You know, you could just type in 'google.com/reader.'"

Oh.
That works too.

OK so onto wedding stuff!

Look at what The Knot is sharing with us now: even more reasons to despise the wedding industry (aka the most expensive cities to marry)

{via}

I could seriously vomit. Really? Really? Gross.

I blame Pinterest.

...now excuse me while I go look for more wedding inspiration. On Pinterest.

Ugh.
