Way Back {When}sday...But Not Really

Good morning!

Reflecting on last night I thought that my post today would go "way back" to four years ago. 

I won't, though, because even though this is my blog and I should do what I want, I fear that talking about politics on my blog will result in people lecturing me for my beliefs and memories or take things out of context. 

So instead of writing about the hope I still feel and how happy I was four years ago accompanied by pictures and memories, I will just say two things: 

First, thank you for caring so passionately about this election. I am so proud to live in a country where we can argue freely. I pray we keep voting every year for the local and state elections. Those are just as important.

Second, and I think we can all agree, I am so thankful that I will now fast-forward through holiday commercials on my DVR instead of political commercials.

Now I leave you with this:

On a different subject, last night on his show Jon Stewart shared some heartwarming information. On Sunday, the New York marathon was canceled. Many marathon runners who were in NYC decided that since they could no longer compete they would instead volunteer for relief efforts.

The 2009 New York marathon winner said, "I want to work with somebody. I don't mind going to Staten Island (which was greatly affected by the storm.) If I cannot run, I want to be positive. Or go to Central Park and let the runners know it's OK. I don't know. It's my first Sunday off in many years. How can I help?"

Weekend Update

Recapping my weekend won't take but a minute. Andrew and I lounged pretty much the entire time. Aside from an eye appointment and a couple workouts for me, a haircut for him, a super fun trip to the new and amazing grocery store Mariano's (it was a WILD Saturday night, lemme tell ya), hanging out with friends in the building for a few minutes, and Mass, we basically just chilled.

It.Was.Glorious.

I did have my first red cup of the season, though!

AND we turned on our fire for the first time!

Oh! We also had a video chat session with my niece, Lizzie! She is such a talker, I love it! What a cutie!

Sure we didn't do much, but we're heading to DC this upcoming weekend, so we were happy to stay in and save some cash!

This is my Saturday uniform, if you will.   Well, it would be if I never had anything to do on Saturdays. ...aaaand if I could justify spending that much on a lounge sweatshirt. (Who am I kidding? I'd wear that sweater out and about. It's very cute.)   First of all, sweater or not, my idea of comfy is Old Navy Performance Fleece. No fleece is sweeter, friends.   Second, a fire, a good book and a coffee? Snuggled in a blanket (with Andrew and the cat)? Bliss.    Man, now I just want to lay around all day.   Sigh...   What's your go-to lounge-wear?  Ever splurge on anything even if you know you'll only wear it around the house? Little Bit of Sass Thursday: The Awkward Edition

So yesterday was a good time. I have to start it off first by saying that my job is fun and my office is unbelievably cool. We really got into the costumes this year.
