Wedding Wednesday: Inquiry for Invitations!

Little Bit of Class Little Bit of Sass

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Not much to report on the wedding front this week, except that I did pick out a vintage broach to use in my hair for The Big Day!

It was such a pleasant experience, visiting Vintage Underground in Wicker Park. A gal there was so wonderful and took a lot of time and care in helping me pick out the perfect accouterment!

Aside from that happy development, we are so busy with work and the holiday that it's tough to focus on the wedding!

One thing I am thinking about lately, though, is invitations. We need to order them soon! Only about four months away!

So here's where I need you, dear readers.

Please give me any tips on where you have looked and where you have booked!
Online shops, Etsy, traditional stores in the Chicago area, I want to hear it!

Or: Did you DIY yours? Do you have a tutorial to share?

I will then compile everything (if I get responses!) into a little Invitation Guide so other future brides can benefit.

In terms of what we're looking for, we want a classic, traditional invitation. My parents have one of theirs framed and I want to do the same!

Thanks in advance and have a wonderful week!!!

Leave a comment and join our linkup! Kristyn and I sure do love it when you do!

Please share the link-up on social, too, if you want!

YAY! a fellow traditional invitation bride, LOVE IT! Everything out there right now looks like party invitations, which is SO not me.

I actually worked with a company to design my invitations and I LOVED how they came out. I'm not sure what your budget is, but that is something to look into. JUST make sure to give yourself EXTA time if you go that route. My invites went out later than I wanted, because I didn't adjust my timetable correctly.

Our invites are going to be very non-traditional rustic and made by Jeremy's sister who is a graphic designer. She tells me that she will start working on them during Christmas week! YAH!

I scoured Etsy to find some I liked. If I was going to do it myself, I would probably do something like that. We are going to have her design them and then get them printed and cut at a shop here in Atlanta. Are there shops like that in Chicago that will print and cut your invites? Check that out if you can. It will save you money. Our shop also provides the envelopes for the invites and the RSVPs. Just a thought!

My mom's friends is diong our invitations but I recommend weddingpaperdivas.com. We got our save the dates from there and their paper quality is amazing. You can order free samples to see for yourself! They average $4 each and UP (invitiations, accomodation cards, etc.) so keep that in mind. I think that's pretty standard though. Good luck, can't wait to see what you decide!

We ordered our invitations and save the dates off Etsy, but they are a little less traditional. My friend Janelle ordered hers from Jupiter and Juno and they did a FANTASTIC job and it was a great deal.

Here's their website: http://www.jupiterandjunoshop.com/

Good luck!!

We did a DIY printable invitation for JoAnn Fabrics. It was honestly so easy and affordable, and turned out looking professional (I got asked who made them from various family members). The only thing I would have done different is either hire someone to address them or to have ran those through the printer too because they were all in my handwriting, and not so pretty.
Good luck with the planning :)

I ordered my invites through Vistaprint with a 50% off code...and they were gorg!! Although the envelopes sucked so I had to buy those seperately...but all in all it was a fabulous deal!! :)

We also used Wedding Paper Divas. If you sign up for their emails or like them on facebook they'll send out coupons periodically. After I ordered some samples I got a 40% off coupon if I ordered from them withing 6 months. Plus, everything we ordered at least came SUPER fast.

We used Wedding Paper Divas too! They had a lot of options but what sold me was how easy the whole process was. They have templates you just fill out for pretty much any family situation and almost all of the invites have other stationary that matches like place cards, thank you cards, etc. Everyone arrived in a very timely manner to once ordered. It was just so easy!

I printed our invitations with kits I bought from Hobby Lobby. They have great sales on their stuff and some really cute invitations.

Here's some of my posts about them:
