Little Bit of Class Tuesday: Classy Look to the Blog!

Photobucket

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

I have found myself checking my blog more frequently than usual today. Why? Well, I can't get over how fantastic my new header and buttons look! It's all thanks to the expertise of Miss {av} from Long Distance Loving. Last night, {av} and I had a Skype blog consultation. For an hour she and I had a fun and insightful conversation about the design and content for Little Bit of Class Little Bit of Sass. It was fantastic to "meet" a blogger who I admire and who I have followed for over a year! {av} was quick, professional, cheery, encouraging, and just as sweet as she seems on her blog. She is also the brain behind the Friday's Fancies theme that I have posted about many a Friday. Please go visit {av}'s blog and enjoy!

Here is a classy picture for your Tuesday. When I saw it on Pinterest I audibly gasped on the L.

Whimsical, beautiful, and undeniably elegant, these two women epitomize class. Do you have any style icons? These two ladies are mine!

Maxified Friday's Fancies!

Hello! I'm a little late on my Friday's Fancies and my weekly update but oh well. It's been a busy week adapting to the new job and fitting in workouts before 6am. Below the outfit is my update, including sassy and class updates. Sorry again for failing to post regularly, but thanks for reading!

So the theme this week for Friday's Fancies is to come up with an outfit around maxi dresses. I don't own one and since I'm short I feel like I need to be super skinny to pull off the look, but the purpose of posting to Friday's Fancies is to dream big, right? Well, here's my entry for the week. Please click on the link above and vote "Like" if you enjoy my outfit. My entry is #65. Yet again I couldn't choose on a bag and shoes. I feel like any of those will work - Tory Burch works well for any occasion, don't you think? ;)

Little Bit of Class Tuesday:
Nothing about Tuesday was classy. I wore my hair up with leopard print flats and was saucy all day because it was hot. Something about jeans and sweat does not make me feel like a classy broad. However, I did wear a bun in my hair, which to me means ballerina, which again means classy. Sure it's a stretch, but hey, it was all I had going for me. Tell me this isn't classy:

Wishful Wednesday:
All day I felt like chatting with my girlfriends. After working all day around dudes I just needed a little discussion about shopping, nails, and all things girly. As luck would have it, Andrew's cousin fits that bill perfectly and called me to hang out! Good timing! We hung out and gabbed about girl stuff all evening until Andrew got off work, then had a yummy meal.

Little Bit of Sass Thursday:
Nothing remarkable on my end, except that I'm getting more comfortable around my co-workers so the sass is coming out in my comments. It's fun. Here's a funny sassy picture, but for more visit my pinterest board!

Weekly Update:
Weight loss:
Only 0.4 pound loss. Grrrr

Total weight loss:
2.9 since I started again.

Pounds remaining to reach goal weight:
31 - sigh.

[I did not come up with my goal weight arbitrarily. This goal weight is based on the WW site guidelines. My goal weight is actually on the heavy range for my age and height.]

Overall mood this week:
All week I have been more conscious of portions and eating dinner earlier in the evening. I had fun on our Detroit trip last weekend, but I wasn't as bad as I easily could have been. What kept me going this week was the encouragement by a few readers, so thank you to Maureen, Megan, and Lucy. I truly appreciate your support.

Also, since I don't do enough cardio and instead do five days of The Butt Bible, I'm thinking that toning is preventing bigger losses on the scale. Muscle weighs more than fat after all, and I have to admit, I don't shy away from mirrors anymore. I'm definitely liking how I'm looking, and plan on keeping this up.

Worked out:
6 times in five days! Even though I had worked out in the morning on Thursday I did yoga after a busy day of work. It made me proud because usually I'd have a glass of wine, but the yoga helped even more to relax me!

Wedding Wednesday: Recapping the Wedding Week

Wedding Wednesday

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Thanks so much to Ashlen for hosting the link-up last week! I really appreciate it and I am working on reading all of your posts and catching up on your wedding tales!

I'm officially a Mrs. and couldn't be happier!
Well, I guess I could: we could be still in Costa Rica honeymooning and enjoying time away from the real world!!

While we anxiously await our incredible photographer's photos and our videographer's videos, I'll kick off recaps of our wedding with tales of the week leading up to the Big Day.

I have to start by saying how STRESSED I was! Work was insane! I had to work late and over the weekend (which I usually don't mind), but somehow had to finish tons of little wedding details on top of it. I would get so worked up if someone had a question for me, no matter how big or small. Somehow, I thought, I would screw up something, whether for work or for the wedding. Oy.
I wanted to eat all of the chocolate in the world
(OK fine, that's nothing new).

It was such a race to get everything at work in order by the end of the day on Tuesday!
Luckily my boss is AWESOME and put my mind at ease. She practically kicked me out of the door to get my dress from Macy's.
I didn't argue.

Here's the dress hanging up - Andrew's curiosity was killing him, but he didn't look :)

Tuesday night was nuts as we packed, made list after list, and prayed we got everything.

Wednesday we were off!
The weather was great and before we knew it we were in Ohio!

That day was my Dad's Birthday, and we had to help get people from the airport, so we celebrated Dad's Birthday at a restaurant near the airport, the 94th Aero Squadron
It was fun to catch up with my parents, sister, and niece in person!

That evening, once my brother and sister-in-law arrived, we ate birthday cake and sang to our Dad. I can't remember the last time all of us were together for someone's birthday, so it was very special.

So special that I forgot to take pictures.
Blogger/daughter fail.

After cake we were on a mission: fold ceremony programs, put together the table numbers (can't wait to share this with all of you!), finalize welcome bags for the hotels, cut the welcome bag letters, cut the menus and I'm sure many other things. It was fun, but it was definitely a late night.

But, since I was too excited to sleep, I woke up early and did some Pinterest workouts in my room.
Yes, my room!
When the whole family is home I NEVER get to sleep in my room since it's big with a double bed, so the married folk always get it and I'm either on a bunk bed or a couch.
This weekend, though, it was allllll mine. I felt bad until my head hit the pillow.
Then I was rather thankful!

That morning I opened the fourth letter from the incredible gift Callie orchestrated! It was from Holly, my hometown bridesmaid, and was so flippin' touching I could hardly stand it.
I've known her forever, so yeah. Happy tears. Gosh I love her!

Later that morning we took the welcome bags to the hotels and dropped off decor at our reception venue, with a few other odds and ends in there, too.

Andrew and I took off for the rest of the afternoon and hung out with his parents, who just got into town.

Later on, my parents had a fun soiree to celebrate April birthdays, as it was Holly's birthday that day! (Plus my Dad's the day before and future Mother-in-Law's also in April - my parents are awesome for hosting it!)

The party was amazing...

...except when I walked outside and everyone said hello.
I made a bit of an entrance because we were running a little late and I needed to change and freshen up.
After the welcoming and booming "hello!!!!" from everyone at the party, my sister-in-law hugged me and franticly whispered in my ear, "I love you...XYZ!"
I channeled my inner 5-year old and realized what she meant: my fly was down.

Yep, I made an entrance at the party with the zipper of my pants wide open.
Whoops.

Anyway, the food was delicious!

So were the drinks!

...until I spilled a glass of wine all over the childhood pictures I was sharing with my future mother-in-law.
At least it was white wine and nothing was ruined!

Loved the flowers and the food! My parents sure know how to throw a good shindig!

Love these ladies so much!

{Lizzie playing with Andrew. She calls him "Tio Andrew" now! So so so so cute!}

OK, this post is officially too long, so I'll stop here.

The next few posts will go a little something like this:

Bridesmaid Luncheon
Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner
Morning of the Wedding
Wedding Ceremony
Reception
The incredible surprise that everyone knew about but me
Send-Off
Other Details that Bloggers and Pinterest appreciate but probably no one else does.

I have a couple of videos to share, too!

I'm so excited to continue to recap the best and happiest day of my life thus far!

OK, twist my arm, here's a picture from the Big Day from our instagram feed, #AndrewMarriesMary:

Little Bit of Class Tuesday

Photobucket

Good morning!

My blogger friend Mimi from Irresistible Icing posted about her Weight Watchers weigh-in today - bravo to Mimi for being so brave and honest. I wish I could be like that! Anyway, her post reminded me that I didn't post about my WW journey on Friday! I only lost 0.3 pounds, but hey it's going in the right direction...and we had a friend in town the weekend prior, which means I wasn't as good as I should have been! Anyway, I have 33.1 pounds to go before I hit my goal weight. Woot!

So far this week I have been better than last, meaning I didn't drink as much over the weekend and I held back from eating the worst of things for meals...really I was bad but not as bad as I could have been! I enjoyed myself while being conscious of portions and all of that jazz, keeping in mind that I should refrain from demonizing food. It was a happy weekend. Yesterday and today I woke up early to run 3 miles. It's a fantastic loop - I can still see the stars when I start my run, the streets are silent, and when I get back I can watch the sun rise after I jump on Andrew to wake him up :)

Back to the theme for today: little bit of class. Well, today is a dress-up day at work, which I love because I enjoy the whole business casual regime. I feel like people respect me more when I'm in a nice outfit instead of the usual jeans get-up I'm allowed to wear on a daily basis (woot!). Today I decided to be classy with a skirt and sweater combo, but added my sass by throwing in pops of color: my coral flats, royal purple sweater, and a statement necklace. I've already had compliments!

Here's a classy photo for you today, via my Pinterest:

Stay classy, my friends!

Wedding Wednesday: Wedding Week!!!

Wedding Wednesday

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

First of all, Happy Birthday to my Dad!!! I'm so excited to see him later today to celebrate and to kick off the wedding festivities!

{Taken at my brother's wedding almost two years ago!}

Second, next week Ashlen from A Diamond With Sapphires is hosting in my absence! I could schedule something in advance, buuuut I've had a little bit on my mind recently and haven't written anything. Thanks for understanding and thanks to Ashlen for keeping the linkup going!!

So, uh, guess what?
This is my last Wedding Wednesday post as a bachelorette!

The wedding is Saturday!!!!

You guys.

It's SATURDAY!

How is this possible???
(I mean, I'm certainly not complaining)
It's just so crazy to think that the wedding is FINALLY upon us!
Andrew proposed in November 2012, so this engagement has been a little long, and because of that it kind of felt like it was always far away.

Not so anymore!

Last night I ran to Macy's, got my gown, hoisted it high so it wouldn't drag through the store as people stared (whatever I loved it!), and then hailed a cab on State Street.
SO fun! I was such a grinning fool and I didn't care.

Today we're off to enjoy this weekend and time together, to have our worlds collide and to be filled with so much love and support that we may burst!

Also, speaking of love and support, I have to share what my girls are doing for me this week!

I got a text this past week from my college bridesmaid, Callie, that I would have a package to open on Saturday. I opened it immediately and found six bejeweled envelopes with a note from Callie!

Every day (including Saturday!) I open one to see what's inside.
Well I've gone through three - and holy happy tears!
Monday's was from Megan and oh my goodness. So incredibly sweet I could hardly take it!
I have the most wonderful friends. It's so thoughtful of Callie to orchestrate this, especially since everyone lives in a different state!

Tuesday's letter included two cards! One from my sister-in-law and one from my big brother (written to Andrew but of course I read it, too!)! They are awesome!!!

Teddy was such a good sport.

These cards were perfect timing. Work was nuts this week. I worked three hours Sunday and three hours Monday night, after doing wedding stuff. It wouldn't have been a big deal had it not been wedding week, but as such it was stressful! Even though the past week was exhausting, these letters definitely gave me the boosts I needed to get through Monday and Tuesday for sure!

Today's is from the orchestrater, Callie!

She's just basically wonderful! Such kind words and big big smiles!!!
Love the "S" earrings, too!!!

Gosh I just love my friends and family! I can't wait to celebrate with everyone and start this new adventure with Andrew! He is going to be the best husband!

(AHH! I just wrote "husband"!!! It's all happening!!!)

Anyway, that's about it!
Our check list is pretty much complete.
The out of office response is on.
I left my computer at work (!!!)
We're packed.
And we are SO ready.

Let's DO this!!!!!

Let's Be Friends Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Let's Be Friends Blog Hop! This is my first time participating and I just love the concept. Tiffany and Chelsee are lovely ladies! Please read on and join in the fun!

A blog hop is a set time frame for current or aspiring bloggers to find new blogs and quality content. It is a great way to make new friends and find inspiration! It is also a fabulous way to promote your own blog and posts.

Dear Friends,
What a day to celebrate! This is the 97th week of the Let's Be Friends blog hop! Thanks for joining us on this special day. Chelsee and Tiffany are extremely delighted to see the way this hop has grown and love to see your faces each week!

Join us every Tuesday at 7am (MST). This blog hop focuses on content. LINK UP YOUR FAVORITE POST from last week in this fun content-sharing blog hop! I love the idea of blog hopping, but I love the idea of reading posts and quality content on new blogs I've never been to even more. Instead of simply linking up your blog button, you are now able to link up your favorite post you recently wrote. Have a delicious recipe to share, DIY tutorial, or heartfelt post? Share it with us! All hosts and co-hosts put up some unique and fun content from the past week. Make sure to check them out. P.S.- you may still link up your blog button and blog name, but it is encouraged to link up your favorite post instead. You will get more page views and interest if you do so! Some of the most successful blog hops I have participate in focus on content rather than just exchanging follows. You never know who will become a loyal follower or pin that delicious new recipe you posted!

The BEST part of this blog hop? Each week there will be a WINNER! That's right, each week we will choose one lucky blog to feature from the previous week's hop. This hop receives thousands of page views every week, so your blog will have the chance to be center stage for free. You must follow all the hosts and co-hosts in order to win. Only those who link up a specific post are eligible to be featured! *You must follow all the hosts and co-hosts in order to win.

The last exciting change is that the co-host spots will now be available to all sponsors of The Dwelling Tree or Southern Beauty Guide. If you are interested in co-hosting the blog hop, email Tiffany or Chelsee about sponsorship opportunities and how to co-host the weekly hop!
There are a couple of great giveaways going on right now at Southern Beauty Guide and The Dwelling Tree. Go check them out! :)

Little Bit of Class Tuesday and Teddyversary!

Happy Tuesday!

I just have a wee bit of class to share today because I have another focus for this post.

First, I have to show off my new pouf!

I won this Lulu and Georgia pouf from Breakfast at Toast's giveaway. I love this pouf. It's comfy, cute, and fits in the apartment very well. It's kind of classy, right?

That was the first and last time I'll wear shoes when I use the pouf. I was just really excited and couldn't wait. Thanks again, Danielle!

OK so now to the rest of my post.

Last year on January 15, Andrew and I made a very big decision, one that has made us extremely happy. We adopted our Teddy!!!

We named Teddy after the Washington National's mascot, Teddy Roosevelt. The presidents race across the field every home game and it's pretty funny. This was the first year that Teddy won a race!

Anyway, Teddy comes running when you call his name and will sit in your lap purring for a long time. He's fun, sweet, and well-behaved.

He shows us the importance of chilling out, goes crazy for catnip, dresses up for the holidays, and loves to soak up the sun.

He is a great workout buddy, helped us move, assists with the laundry, and cheers on our teams.

He's handsome, too!

We just love this fuzzy guy. I guarantee that even if you don't like cats you will like Teddy. He's a cool cat. Happy Teddyversary, buddy!

By the way, we adopted Teddy from Paws in Chicago
If you want a pet, please consider adopting from a no-kill shelter! :)
