Wedding Wednesday: 10 Days!

Wedding Wednesday

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

So a funny thing happened...

I BLINKED and we're suddenly 10 days away from The Big Day!

AHHHHH!

Just a few things are left for us to do!

Andrew thought up a SUPER cute idea for our escort cards so we're working on that, plus printing our programs and menus and doing a ton of other tiny things.

A week from today the fun starts in Ohio and I seriously cannot wait!!!!

I also make sure that I take a small amount of time each day to daydream about our upcoming honeymoon to Costa Rica. It makes this 40 degree Chicago weather bearable, that's for sure!

I haven't been able to sleep well lately, though.
So much is on my mind!
As excited as I am for everything, I've been worrying lately about stupid stuff.

I'm talking really stupid.

I'm embarrassed to share this, but...

For example, around 2:30 every morning I wake up wondering one or all of the following:

Will I forget to say "thank you" to everyone?
Will I forget something important in Chicago?
Will my hair go flat or my make-up wear off or my fake eyelashes fall off and I look like a complete fool?
Will the bridesmaids dresses look more like a light purple instead of the intended grey?
Will I sweat and smell and no one will want to hug me?
Will I say something ridiculous to someone?
Will the blog world/Pinterest world judge every little choice I made?
Will anyone talk about how I didn't lose enough weight?
Will people comment on how pale I am and wonder why I didn't at least get a spray tan?
Will I spill food or drinks on my dress?
Will I tear my dress?
Will I ruin the beautiful family veil somehow since I'm a klutz?
Will my arms actually look like I have muscles (I do have them, I swear!) or will I just look like a fat, pale, white whale?

I also worry that Andrew won't think that I look pretty.
He assures me that he always thinks that I do (awww), but gosh I hope he's not disappointed when he sees me at the end of the aisle.
That's usually my 4:00 am worry.

Then I wake up around 5:30, have a good workout, get ready for the day and smack myself in the face for being RIDICULOUS.

Yikes. I am officially accepting any kicks in the rear or public shaming. I deserve it!

Do any of you other brides have similar worries or is this just my pre-wedding stress talking?

Sigh.
I want chocolate. And wine.

Instead I will pick up some dumbbells and try to make my arms look not fat.

How are you doing this week?

Today is my first Wedding Wednesday post!!!!! I got married almost four weeks ago, but I kept it a secret from the blog until after the big day. Now I'm going back and blogging about it all. Thanks for hosting!

Oh girl, it's normal, but oh girl, relax! It will be oh so beautiful and wonderful and all your worries will melt away. He's going to think you are gorgeous and your family and friends are going to be so happy for y'all. Trust me! All the preworry stuff becomes so 'silly' once the day arrives. But, I get it now, since you haven't been there.

WEEEE! 10 days! So exciting!

I've been having trouble sleeping too and worrying about silly things as well. It'll be perfect and OF COURSE you will look beautiful. I'm going to our venue this Friday to drop a crap load of stuff off so I made a list and I'm going to check everything off as I put it in my car lol. So excited for you! It'll all work out :)

It's totally pre-wedding stress! I realized my dress didn't fit six weeks before our wedding. I started having all sorts of "oh he won't think I'm beautiful anymore" thoughts. Needless to say, they were all gone the second those chapel doors opened. Ten days!! ahh!! So excited for you!!

Ahhhh wedding nightmares, thankfully those will soon pass. It's completely normal to stress about the small stuff and I promise you everything will be amazing!

I kept waking up in the night leading up to my wedding. Or I just had really strange nightmares about everything going wrong.

-Don't worry about saying thank you to every single person. That's what thank you notes are for. Plus, you're the one feeding them at the reception...they should be thanking you!
-Your hair will probably not last until midnight, and some of your makeup might come off. It's a good thing, because it means you're having a good time.
-No one will comment about how you are pale. If they do, your maid of honor and bridesmaids should go slap them. Or get some of the groomsmen to escort them outside. If a spray tan isn't your style, and you would rather look like you than an oompa-loompa, then all the power to you! I was my natural pasty self for my wedding day and I have no regrets!

Hope that helps a little bit :)

10 days! Girl, I'm so excited for you! Your fears are not irrational, but I promise you this: You will be beautiful, Andrew will think you're beautiful and you won't think of one of those things on this most special day of your life.

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE PICTURES!

Mary you crack me up everyweek! When I read all that you are going through I can't help but think of 2 things; the sound of your voice actually saying the words on the page, and that I am not alone. I have been going through the same things and thinking the same crazy stuff about ruining my dress or Mike not thinking I'm pretty. But trust me when I say that you will look gorgeous and Andrew will thinkso as well. Good luck with the next 10days!

Seriously, those are all totally normal thoughts! You are going to look amazing, don't even worry about that!!! Can't believe you're only 10 days away ahhh! :)

You are one of the most thoughtful people I've ever met! But remember, guests get to go to a lot of weddings but you only get to be the bride once in your life :) Take time for you and Andrew to just take it all in, enjoy this special time for the two of you, and ENJOY! You've meticulously planned and now is the time to just say that you've done your best and it's party time.

It's almost here! Yay! And even if ALL of these things go wrong, you will still have the most wonderful day. xoxo

Just found your blog and linking up for my first Wedding Wednesday! My wedding was almost a year ago, and I can still sympathize with all the last minute stress and crazy thoughts. It'll all work out! :)

Oh Mary! I love you so much. I have a feeling I am going to be waking up with those worries as well, and I will have to remember to come look at this post. You are going to look gorgeous, smell fabulous, and be the bell of the ball! I am so happy for you and I can't wait to hear all about it when you return from your amazing honeymoon!
