Weekend Update

Oh weekend, how short thou art.

I'll start my weekend update with a picture from Thursday night. Yes, I worked Friday, but whatever. This image from the Nats/Cubs game at Wrigley Field is worthy of the blog.

How crazy was that fog?!? It was really cool, except when the Nats couldn't see through it and made some errors. Grr.

Friday was Friday at work. Womp womp. 

But then I went back to Wrigleyville for a drink with Andrew (he went to the Nats/Cubs day game) followed by Wine Club and dancing with the Kinect game. 

So. Much. Fun.

Saturday was Andrew's Birthday!

To celebrate we went to both Nats/Cubs games.

Yep, I went to 3 of the 4 games in the series and Andrew went to all four! We love our Nats!

The roof deck seats were birthday gifts from Andrew's parents for both of our birthdays! It was amazing: all you can eat and drink!!! It was especially fun during the rain delay. We made friends while hiding from the rain. So fun!

Yesterday wasn't as fun, unfortunately.

These silly weather changes have wreaked havoc on my migraines and I literally could barely move until 7 pm. Ugh. All of you may love the coming of summer but I personally hate it! So much pain!

I finally felt better around 7, just enough time to bake Andrew some Birthday cookies, test out our brand spanking new KitchenAid Mixer (wedding gift!) and make a total mess!

Dirty hair, don't care.

A little flour never hurt anyone, though!

An Easy but Productive Weekend

Monday again? Ugh.

I want more of this weekend.

To be honest we didn't do much. We watched baseball and football all weekend.

I'm not exaggerating.

A couple news segments and a few Flipping Boston episodes happened, but for the most part in the Fall we only have sports on the TV. 

That's a lot of cheers, jeers and beers, folks!

But I was productive amid the games.

I've had one in my head for quite some time and never really had time to address these items.

Well, Sunday was the day. Thank goodness.

I feel so much better knowing that my drawers and closet are organized.

I also went to Mass, made breakfast, washed my make-up brushes and did the laundry - all before noon!

Even my make-up and beauty product samples went from this:

So much better.

Yay for de-cluttering!

We also did some wedding stuff, but that's another post for another day...

...meaning Wednesday. I'll post about it Wednesday. ;)

Weekend Update

Oh weekend recaps, why have I neglected thee?!?! Here are a few photos about the past two weekends: Two weekends ago we were so excited to have our first weekend without plans since June. I had high hopes of lounging and generally doing nothing. However, the Friday of said lounge-fest we were surprised with free tickets to the Michigan State/Notre Dame game in Southbend.  Um, hi. Free tickets? DONE!  So we put away our sweatpants and instead sported our green and white! Luckily we had some friends with tailgates. Yeah, it was really a fantastic situation. I learned a new game involving a hammer and a stump with nails. I also learned a little Boones Farm game. It was enlightening.

Even though MSU lost we had a great time!

I may not be a ND fan, but let me tell you: I kind of love that campus. It's gorgeous. And the people are friendly! 

Beautiful, right? Last week was insanely busy, too. It was Social Media Week and I went to four sessions and two happy hours. All free! I also had some other fun things going on last week. I didn't learn much from the SMW sessions, but a couple of them were decent. One at least had a great view from the 82nd floor of the Sears Tower!

Needless to say, by the time the weekend hit I was spent. Friday night we went out for dinner, and besides that, wedding planning, Mass and a couple of errands, we did not do much! Yay for lounging!

OK I did one thing: I saw Giuliana Rancic!

I volunteered for Bright Pink's event called FabFest on Sunday morning, co-hosted by Giuliana.

It was a great event!

The rest of the day was full of lounging, yelling at the Steelers and eating some delicious Skinny Taste BBQ that Andrew made!

Wedding Wednesday AND a Weekend Recap! Yay Photo Overload!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

My weekend was amazing. So amazing, in fact, that it's taken me until today to recap it. Since it includes a wedding I figured it was fitting to post it today.

My weekend actually started on Wednesday evening with some girlfriends at the Jazzin' at the Shed. I love how the aquarium hosts a live jazz event after hours. It was so fun strolling through the usually screaming-children-filled-exhibits as jazz thankfully filled the fishy air.

Ugh that view! Never gets old.

Thursday morning as we geared up for our drive to Ohio a certain someone was trying to sneak his way into my bag.

Nice try, Teddy.

On our drive we happened upon a cool shrine. I thought we could grab some birthday gifts for my Mom, and we walked around the gorgeous church for a few minutes.

I was silly and didn't take any photos of Callie and Mike's rehearsal.

I did, however, take a photo of her cute wrapping for our gifts!

She gave us so much stuff! Very generous!!!

After our delicious meal at Bel Lago, I bid adieu to Andrew and hung out with the bride!  

We gabbed until about 2:30 in the morning. Whoops! Oh well, we woke up without an alarm at 7:30. Too excited to sleep!!!

The whole day was so incredible. 

The gals got ready together and the hair and make-up stylists came to us. 

It took out the stress since they came to the hotel and we didn't have to drive to a salon. 

We even finished early and drove to Otterbein to take pictures at Theta Nu!

PS I absolutely love how the stylist did my hair and make-up. Fake eyelashes are so fun!

Before we knew it we were on our way to the church!

I wish I took more photos but I was too busy having a blast. 

There's something just so wonderful about watching your best friend get married. It's amazing! :)

I also love that my parents, brother and sister-in-law were there. We had a fantastic time on the dance floor!

Needless to say, I was asleep before my head hit the pillow that night!

But the fun didn't stop there!

The next morning we went to meet our photographer, Tessa, from Starling Studios! She was even more lovely in person. I'm pretty sure we gabbed for an hour. So fun!

We popped by Otterbein for a quick stroll around campus with my favorite Schneider's donuts in hand!
Andrew even got an Otterbein t-shirt!
I, however, did not get anything because everything I liked said "Otterbein University," and not "Otterbein College." Yes I'm stubborn.

After that it was off to my 10-year high school reunion!

My fellow class officers and I planned it at Rockmill Brewery, a fun family-owned brewery in the country. It is gorgeous! Unfortunately not many people out of our class of 70 could make it, but those of us who could come had a great time! I can't wait to see more pictures, especially the one of our whole group!

I loved seeing my classmates after all of this time, and we decided to definitely have a 15-year! I've known some of them since pre-school and kindergarten. Gotta love 12 years at a Catholic School!

The rest of the evening was spent with my family. I miss them so much!

We drove back to Chicago very early on Sunday, which was bittersweet. We wish we had more time with family but were happy to have more time to get ready for the week...and to nap and watch football!

Well that about wraps up the long and busy weekend!

Weekend Update!

[Linking up with Sami, Leeann and Meg :)] Another great weekend is in the books!
Friday night we went to Maureen's rehearsal dinner. I loved it! It was a bbq in their back yard. So much food, family and fun!  Saturday was her big day! If you aren't familiar, Maureen is my Little from Theta Nu and was one of the only people I knew when I moved to Chicago. Needless to say, we became even better friends after college and I love her dearly! I was so excited to celebrate her wedding because she deserves the best - and got the best! Her husband Mac is awesome!!! They were beaming the whole time and their happiness was definitely contagious. She of course looked stunning, too! That morning Daniela and I helped to decorate the picnic grove that hosted the ceremony and reception. I am not exaggerating when I say that we had SO much fun and the weather was perfect. Yay! We also changed at Panera and did our makeup in the car. Quite an adventure! Here's our red light selfie:

Beautiful, right? All of Maureen's special touches were evident: from her mother's wedding dress that she repurposed for herself, to the bridesmaid dresses she made, the taco and pie bars, the homemade bunting and other DIY decor, etc. It was such an amazing day! Then there was an after party at Studio Be! I was too busy dancing to take a bunch of photos, but here's one!

Sunday was amazing. In my mind, Sundays are made for Mass, grocery shopping, lounging on the couch, catching up with family and/or friends on the phone, wedding planning and making a nice meal. Luckily we did allll of those things AND face-timed with Lizzie and Kate!
