Weekend Update

Oh weekend, how short thou art.

I'll start my weekend update with a picture from Thursday night. Yes, I worked Friday, but whatever. This image from the Nats/Cubs game at Wrigley Field is worthy of the blog.

How crazy was that fog?!? It was really cool, except when the Nats couldn't see through it and made some errors. Grr.

Friday was Friday at work. Womp womp. 

But then I went back to Wrigleyville for a drink with Andrew (he went to the Nats/Cubs day game) followed by Wine Club and dancing with the Kinect game. 

So. Much. Fun.

Saturday was Andrew's Birthday!

To celebrate we went to both Nats/Cubs games.

Yep, I went to 3 of the 4 games in the series and Andrew went to all four! We love our Nats!

The roof deck seats were birthday gifts from Andrew's parents for both of our birthdays! It was amazing: all you can eat and drink!!! It was especially fun during the rain delay. We made friends while hiding from the rain. So fun!

Yesterday wasn't as fun, unfortunately.

These silly weather changes have wreaked havoc on my migraines and I literally could barely move until 7 pm. Ugh. All of you may love the coming of summer but I personally hate it! So much pain!

I finally felt better around 7, just enough time to bake Andrew some Birthday cookies, test out our brand spanking new KitchenAid Mixer (wedding gift!) and make a total mess!

Wee Bit from My Weekend

This weekend I had a great time relaxing in Chicago. And by relaxing I mean constantly refreshing my Facebook feed to see pictures from the two weddings I missed. Boo finances. I missed some good times with good friends in gorgeous gowns. Sad.Face.

However, I managed to squeeze in some fun (on the cheap!) this weekend. Here are a few pictures! 

Our friend was in town from DC, and we stopped to pose at the Adler Planetarium for city-scaped shots.

Sunday I was absolutely THRILLED to meet {av} from Long Distance Loving and 20 other Chicago Bloggers for Blogger Blitz Chicago!! We graced the roof deck of Market for some mid-day cocktails and chatting.

Here's the gang! It was really exciting to put names to faces and make connections with these talented ladies. I fully intend to add their blogs to my Google Reader. I hope we all meet again!

The rest of the afternoon I joined Andrew for a shaded view of the Cubs game. Seriously, I wouldn't have lasted if we were in the sun!

Weekly Posting Now?

Well goodness gracious what a bad blogger I have been this last week. I actually have really good excuses! Let me explain in pics and prose:

First, I didn't post on Thursday of last week because, well, I have no idea why. I either forgot or was too lazy. Guilty! 

Second, last Friday I was in a horrible mood because I didn't lose any weight again. Fridays are my weigh-in days for Weight Watchers. I never want to post when I'm a negative Nancy, so I decided to forgo the 2012 equivalent of feel-bad-about-myself high school AIM away messages of sad song lyrics. Remember those? I may have felt like posting the lyrics to "Everybody Hurts" by REM, but alas I am not a teen. Instead of complaining online I whined to Andrew and barely ate anything all day. Progress? 

Annnnyway...

Saturday we drove up north a bit for my future sister-in-law's bridal shower! It was great to meet her family and spend some quality time with my mom. In all honesty it was the first bridal shower where we didn't eat tiny sandwiches and I didn't have (too many) awkward conversations...meaning I really had a great time! The only game (!!!) was a Mad Libs game. My mom and I were crying from laughing so hard!

Later on we went to the Wilmette Beach for the view, the company, and the drinks. Look at the gorgeous sunset with the sailboat! How picturesque!! 

On Sunday my parents brought us a Birthday cake! 

Monday was slightly exciting: we went to a Conan taping!!!! He's in Chicago this week and we were lucky to get tickets! Andrew's boss gave us her extra pair and we couldn't pass it up! Look at this line to pick up the tickets! Crazy! 

The whole experience was one to remember. I will obviously have this picture to remember how I sweat in line beforehand. Lovely.

The show was hysterical and we got to meet Mark Pender!

Finally, I didn't post the previous two nights because we graced the Wrigley bleachers for the Cubs v. Tigers games.

Gorgeous!! I love the weather right now in the Windy City!

Wishful Wednesday!

Wednesday my wish was granted: I got to go to a Cubs game and sit in the bleachers! It was so fun and the Cubs won!!! It was the first game where I could stick around to sing the fun song at the end. Good times, friends, good times. I hope your Wednesday wish came true this week!
