Yay for Wedding Wednesday with Mary and Joelle!

I'm very excited to reveal our reception venue, The Athletic Club of Columbus!

Andrew and I are so thrilled!

I took these pictures when we toured the space. Lucky for us there was a wedding there later so we got to see it all dressed up and ready to go.

I think it's safe to say that this venue is quite possibly the most beautiful place we could imagine for our reception. We are just so very thankful! Obviously we can't wait to celebrate our marriage!

Wedding Wednesday!

Yay for Wednesday! I'm so excited to link up with Mary and Joelle again this week!

I wasn't quite sure of what to write about this week.  We're still nailing some details down before I broadcast any news/share pictures.

Luckily, Andrew had a great idea.

That's right! We set the date with the church!!!

Andrew and I are smiling ear to ear and are so excited!

We are going to get the contract for the reception venue today, too!
But that's another post for next week!

Wedding Wednesday

Hi there!

It's been busy around here as we get closer and closer to setting a date.

Over the weekend I came across Weddington Way, my new favorite site, and picked out some possible bridesmaid dresses. We're thinking floor-length, grey, non-satin gowns for a classic, classy, and whimsical look. We will probably do plum flowers for a fun pop of color. This could all change, of course, but it's fun to dream up ideas and color schemes!

Have you checked out Weddington Way? Once you create a profile you can scroll through gorgeous dresses with the ability to filter by color family, price, fabric, designer, and length if you so choose. You can select any dress you like to create a Showroom, so you can compare dresses next to each other! Then you can invite your bridesmaids to view the showroom, comment, like, or add their own dresses. I think that may be the coolest part, but then again I'm a sucker for smart ways to create online social collaboration. Finally, a consultant will also email you and offer sizing or color advice. They will even send swatches for free. I have three on the way to me!

Did I sell you yet? It's seriously so smart!

Also this weekend I made a list of dress designers I like and searched for stores that carry them in the Chicago area. I spoke with all of the gals coming here to shop with me and we nailed down a weekend in April! We're going to get a Groupon for rooms at a downtown hotel and shop that Saturday. I'm so pumped!

Another big thing I did this weekend was start our wedding website. I'm hosting it on Blogger because I unfortunately don't know how to make one from scratch. Plus, with a little Googling, questions to my friends/developer co-workers, and a LOT of patience, it's doable...and more rewarding to do it myself. Another co-worker will design our header and I am SO pumped to see the final result and share it with all of you!

One more thing! My friend was in town this weekend who is getting married this fall. We asked each other to be bridesmaids! It was so fun and we are both thrilled to stand up for each other on our special days! I'll save how I'm asking my bridesmaids for another post once I ask my other two in person!

Busy in a good way :)
What's next? Quite a bit, actually! Luckily once we nail down a date and reception venue we can rest a little. We're getting married next spring (most likely May 2014), so I'm hoping the planning will ease a little. We'll see about that haha
