Wedding Wednesday: Updates and Bachelorette Recap!

Wedding Wednesday

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

First of all, would anyone like to take the reins and host this linkup while I am away for the Big Day and honeymoon? It's easy and will only be for one day (Wednesday, April 30)!
Please leave a message and we will get it all set up :)

Speaking of...
You guys. The wedding is 17 days away.
SEVENTEEN.

I can't even tell you how much I have to do and how exhausted I am...
...so I won't!

What I WILL share is how much fun this all is. Sure it's tiring, but it's tiring for good reasons!

And on top of it I started a new job! I love my co-workers and boss and I'm learning a ton.
Sure it's overwhelming, but I truly needed to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself.

However, I didn't necessarily plan for my comfort zone to go by the wayside days before the wedding, but hey, that's life, throwing you the unexpected. God can't give us more than we can handle, amIright?

Anyway, Monday night was our first dance lesson and it was just what the doctor ordered. It was fun, romantic and silly. Such a good time! I can't wait for next Monday!
We're not having a choreographed routine, just a little instruction of how to Rumba to our song and some flourish ideas. We're excited!

That being said, if you ever need a present for a friend who's engaged, I highly suggest dance lessons! My sister and brother-in-law treated us to a Groupon for group dance lessons at Christmas. Due to our schedule I knew that 8 weeks in a row of lessons, while super fun, just wasn't possible. I called the studio and they exchanged it for two private lessons. I'm so happy they made the switch!

Our instructor suggested that I wear my shoes for the lessons. Twist my arm.

OK now I finally MUST recap the incredible bachelorette in Pittsburgh!

My sister planned SUCH an amazing evening! I am so happy that it was all a surprise because the fun just kept coming and coming!

First of all, these girls really went above and beyond. I love them so very much!!

Second, they were way too generous and gave me such thoughtful gifts!!!

The first event of the evening was a surprise hairdo (with treats, too, obviously)!

Such pretty ladies!
Gosh I love them!

After our hair we went back to the hotel to finish primping and open the super sweet gifts they gave me!

My sister also planned a fun scavenger hunt and gave us all towels with this fun blog in mind!
(The towels were a nod to being in Pittsburgh, the home of our beloved Steelers Terrible Towels!)
Every time I sassed someone or something sassy happened around us we were all supposed to wave our towels with pride.

I certainly waved my towel a bunch that night!

Then we were off!
And off we went in STYLE!

Heck yeah we got a limo!

Yep, I felt fabulous.

We ate dinner at a dive bar and had pizza and beer!
It was PERFECT!!!!!
My sister knows me so well!

Pizza, beer, my girls and sequins. What more do I need in life?

Not much...but the German beer hall we went to afterward was the cherry on top, that's for sure.
If you ever find yourself in Pittsburgh, PLEASE go to the Hofbrauhaus, stand on the picnic tables, drink litres of delicious bier, and dance your rear off to the live polka band!
I sure did!

These two photos are classic!

I mean, c'mon. Look at how happy I was that night!
So so so so fun.
I can't thank my sister and girlfriends enough!!!

Wedding Wednesday: Chicago Bachelorette!

Wedding Wednesday

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

This past Saturday my Chicago girlfriends threw me a bachelorette party!
15 people came! It was so wonderful that all of them came out, especially since the weather was snowy and awful!

But you better believe I still wore heels.
*Mary tosses hair*

All I wanted was something low-key, not too expensive and fun, which was exactly what they did! Two of my girlfriends arranged for a little pizza and wine dinner followed by a couple of bars in Roscoe Village. I had never been out in Roscoe, so that was fun! The gals all got me presents, too! It was so unnecessary but so incredibly thoughtful!

And yes, some gifts made me blush!

Before I met up with the big group I did my nails and I got my hair blown out!
Blowtique was incredible. I couldn't believe how high my hair was.

My sister surprised me by "sending" a bottle of champagne to me (through Daniela!) at the salon, too!

Va Va Voom!
I want to do this to my hair every day!

Here are a few other shots from the evening. I started our wedding hashtag that night as well: #AndrewMarriesMary!

One girlfriend took photos on her real camera - I can't wait to see those!!! She got a group shot that is definitely frame-worthy, I'm sure!

Let's just say I was hurting the next day.
It was so so so so fun!!!

My sister also sent a toast. I teared up!
Here it is:

"Mary, you are loved
by so many it is true
but those with whom you raise a glass tonight
are the lucky Chicago ones that truly know you

So wishing you a fun-filled night
wishing I could also be there
but I'll raise one, too, from San Francisco
and join in toasting OUR MARE!!!"

AWWWWW! I LOVE MY SISTER!

I can't wait until my Pittsburgh shower and bachelorette!!!!!

Weekend Update

Mingle 240

What a weekend!
I'm linking up with Sami, Leeann, and Meg!
This weekend was so fun!
Friday was what every Friday should be: pizza and TV with Andrew and Teddy. I basically raced home after work to put on my sweatpants and chill.
Saturday I had a lovely run around my neighborhood and then got ready for Maureen's bachelorette!
Here are a few pictures from our day/night:

As much as I love them, pedicures always kill me!

Maureen loves Scrabble, and her bridesmaid Lauren made these for all of us! I love that mine is my future last initial! :)

Me and the bride-to-be!

It was such a fun group of hilarious ladies! We had a blast!
Lauren and I stayed with Maureen and her sister to help with the crafting the following day!
Maureen made us a delicious quiche with mimosas to kick of the crafting in the right way (and provide me with a little hair of the dog!)

The rest of the day we crafted! Ampersands and Scrabble and M&Ms! Oh my!

But that wasn't alllll I did yesterday!
I also chatted with Holly (and accepted being her bridesmaid next July!!!!!) and gushed about her planning - and bachelorette in Chicago! Woo!
In addition, I created Callie's bachelorette invites for her fun night out in Cincy in a couple of weeks!
Then I spoke with my parents and Andrew - and we chose our florist!
BOOM. Wedding overload.
Just kidding. I loved every second of it! Yay weddings! haha :)
How was your weekend?

Weekend Update

Hey everyone! My week started off pretty busy so I'm excited to sit back, relax, and relive my weekend while I link up with Dana at five30three and her gang.

First of all, have you seen what Ashley from a {little} dash of ash did for my Facebook Cover Photo?!?! I loooove it!

Seeing this was such a fun start to the weekend!

What else happened? Well let PicMonkey help me tell you!

Andrew and I checked out Perez, a local Mexican food joint, and watched the Olympics over a margarita. It wasn't our favorite, but I did love the food pyramid (bottom left).

Friday night we went to Joe's on Weed for the Robert Earl Keen concert. Have those of you from the Midwest heard of him? He's a Texas country singer, and I have loved his music since Andrew introduced me years ago. You see, I thought Rascal Flatts was real country. Andrew is from Texas, so needless to say I had a lot of learning to do! I loved donning my cowboy boots, too!

Saturday was the first lazy day in a very long time. We lounged, walked around our neighborhood, and then I got ready for Steph's Bachelorette party! I snagged a cute picture frame and card from bridal shops on Madison (Smitten is pictured above - I LOVE THIS STORE!).

Steph's bachelorette party was so fun! We had girly drinks at her place and then headed out for the evening. It was rainy earlier so I gave myself a little DIY 'do to prevent frizz. What do you think?

Finally, the top right picture is of one of my very dear friends from home! Melanie was in town for a visit and we grabbed brunch at Yolk (YUM!)!

We rounded out the weekend with more Olympics and grilling out!

Ahhh what a nice weekend flashback...is it Friday yet?!?!

What did all of you do?
