Happy Wedding Wednesday!

This weekend we took our engagement photos!

Andrew's friend (and now my friend!) Becky from Michigan State has a photography business in addition to her marketing job. Check out her Facebook Page: Becky Johns Photography! Lucky for us, she was free on Sunday to take our photos!

Doubly lucky for us, the weather was perfect!

We went shopping on Saturday for something to wear. Shocking that we waited until the last minute!

I picked up a lovely investment piece from Madewell. I absolutely love this dress and definitely plan to wear it all of the time. It's navy and classic and everything I wanted!

We started at Lincoln Park (the actual park, not the neighborhood) and walked around taking photos with the city in the background and the changing leaves all around us.

Then we were off to Adler Planetarium because the view from the outside is amazing: right on the lake with the whole skyline in view.

We finished up in our neighborhood park.

It was such an awesome day. We giggled the whole time!

After our photo shoot we made an awesome dinner and looked on Becky's camera at the photos. I looooove them! I can't wait to see them!

Becky took a photo of us on Andrew's phone just so we could have one while she edited hers. I was going to post it on the blog but I really don't like it. Thank goodness everything Becky took was 1 million times better. Seriously, with every "Like" the photo received on Facebook I liked it less.

OK fine, here's the photo:

It's not the best of us, but oh well. Becky's are awesome!

.........................................

OK it's time to get real for a minute.

This photo (and other photos from this summer) are motivating me.
I must lose some weight. I'm not entirely sure how since I currently do Weight Watchers and workout 5 or 6 times a week. I have lost 7 pounds this summer but I have a long way to go. I workout really hard, too. I can choose to not go into my Weight Watchers Allowance Points so that should help. That's a good goal, I guess. I know that I'm not meant to be a size 2 (and I don't want to be ) but I just want to look like I work hard. Seriously, why can't my arms look as muscular as they are? I love my muscles! Why don't they show up and say hello once in a while?!?! Grrrr

Sorry to complain. I'm not fishing for compliments here. I just wanted to let you know that I'm not all sunshine and rainbows all of the time. I am incredibly happy, but when I see photos of myself the happiness decreases a little.

Just a little, though!

I mean, shoot! I have so much to be thankful for and the #1 reason is standing next to me in that photo! I have Andrew! He is the best man in the world. I just love him. Simple as that.

I also have my amazing family! And tons of friends! And my faith! And my health! And my job!

Who cares if I should lose 100000000 pounds so I feel acceptable?
Sheesh, get a grip, Mary.

OK pep talk finished. Back to being sunshine and rainbows :)

What do you have to share this week? Any updates or stories? Please link up with me and Kristyn and tweet your posts to us!

I can't wait to see your pictures! I loved that we had a friend do ours...it was perfect!

And for losing weight. Lordy. I hear you and understand. I love WW but I don't use my weekly points unless I have to. That's a good start. And know that muscle weighs more than fat. So you might not see movement on the scale, but you are toning instead...so that is good. Just keep doing what you are doing. And don't stress! It will be ok....you also have tons of time.

Cute picture of you two, can't wait to see the rest :) I know how hard it can be to lose some weight and tone up. Life is definitely not all sunshine and rainbows ;)

Oh, I love it! My fiance and I won't be able to take engagement photos, as he's stationed in Arizona while I live and work in New England. Plus...we have just over two months left! Love this feature, doll :)

I'm your newest follower!

I am far from a fitness or diet expert. However, my brother is. And the one thing he says about WW, is it is high in carbs. I would still count points, but watch the sugar and carb intake. Also, what kind of working out are you doing? I did the 30 day shred from Jillian michaels, and I saw more results in one month of her short workout then I did of hours at the gym prior. My friend swears by T25 (from makers of insanity but only a 25 minute workout). Good luck, I think you look great!

I'm so glad the pictures turned out the way you wanted! Can't wait to see the result.
I hear you completely on wanting to get motivated, even small changes make a difference in your appearance. Yeah I'm no size two but there's nothing wrong with wanting to make adjustments! Obviously you'll be beautiful no matter what, but as long as you're happy that's what matters.

Hey lady! I'm glad to read that your happiness is more than just your weight, but I also totally understand the struggle. Not only are you going to have your wedding pictures for the rest of your life, but you want to be healthy and fit too. I second what Miss MP says. I did WW originally to lose weight and it worked... to a point. Then it became less about how much I put into my body (calories, points, whatever) and more about what I was putting in. I was also working out 5-6 times a week. The biggest change I saw occurred when I did the Advocare Challenge. I sell the stuff, so I know I sound like a pusher, but I believe in it! It made me really focus on eating clean and that's when I saw the difference. I'd be happy to tell you more - just email me. And no pressure to buy anything, promise :)

You guys are so cute, what a fun day , how memorable! Don't lose heart, your positivity is so contagious and you can definitely do it! I experience that same thing where I work out really hard and then it's like, why can't i see it. So I can absolutely relate. I agree with miss mp above that the 30 day shred is great, especially if you're in a time crunch or workout rut! Thanks for always keepin it real girl!

I had tons of engagement photo idea, but then my husband decided he really didn't want to take them. So I can't help but get a little jealous when I hear other people stories. But I can't wait to see how all of yours turned out!
