Mary's Musing Monday: The Ooops I Did It Again Edition

Photobucket

So what if I just channeled a little Brit for my title. I did it again, though: I fell off the wagon. Which wagon? Well, it seems to go hand-in-hand for me. When I start to get lazy about my eating habits, I feel too lazy to write in the blog because I am ashamed that I, yet again, couldn't stick to keeping track of my points on Weight Watchers. A co-worker actually said today that I am looking skinnier and skinnier, which was sweet. Lies, but sweet ones.

So there you go. My musing this week is about how I struggle to keep up-to-date with my blog and how I love to eat. I said many a time that I would write no matter if I gained or lost on my weekly weigh-ins, but I haven't been able to bring myself to the scale in the last few weeks. It just gets so depressing. Have any of you ever tried to lose weight time and again? It's not that Weight Watchers is hard or that it doesn't work. It's an awesome and healthy life style, but I just ignore portion control. I recently read a fellow blogger's post about her struggles, and she inspired me to get back in the game. Mimi's post on her blog Irresistible Icing had the best graphic:

I'm going to stop saying that I want to lose weight. I'm going to start writing regularly. I'm going to keep track of my points. I will get on that scale on Friday and face the facts that I am chunky. No matter how much yoga or Butt Bible I do or how many times I attempt to run (I HATE my knees!), I will never get rid of my weight until I manage my portions, say no to baked goods, and avoid bad carbs. Sigh...I wish I just didn't have such a love for food. I've done it before, though, so I know I can do it again! :)

Week 2 (Again)

Howdy readers!

So as I wrote last week, Andrew and I got back on the Weight Watchers wagon. I'm really happy we're back to a healthier lifestyle and I feel so much better. If you forgot, I am documenting my Weight Watchers journey because writing it down to share with everyone is a motivator. I hate writing when I have gains, but I do it! It just pushes me that much harder knowing other people are cheering for me to be healthy and successful.

Weekly Update:
Weight loss:
I lost 1.6 pounds!

Total weight loss:
1.6 - I don't count anything before this. It's a brand new day, after all ;)

Pounds remaining to reach goal weight:
31.3 - goodness. Can I do it? I sure hope so.

I did not come up with my goal weight arbitrarily. This goal weight is based on the WW site guidelines. My goal weight is actually on the heavy range for my age and height. It's weird to imagine me at that weight because the last time I was that weight was, well, junior high? I'm not too sure. My goal size is a size 4 but I will be happy with a 6 because I do remember the last time I wore a size 6 was in 6th grade. Right now I wear a 10 and am flirting with a size 8. So, no I'm not fat and I don't think I am. I just know I could look healthier - and I LOVE the toned look! When I was at my thinnest senior year of college I comfortably wore an 8 and even bought a size 6 jean from Target for $10. They were snug, but hey, I got into them! You better believe I still have those and am dying to wear them. OK wow I can't believe I am admitting all of this. Do you think I'm crazy?

Overall mood this week:
Honestly I was hoping for a bigger loss considering I ate SO much better than I have in a while. At the same time, though, all I do is The Butt Bible which is mainly toning, so that could be the culprit. I guess I should vary it a little, but I just love the exercises! And, call me crazy, but after three weeks of it I am seeing results. Yay for muscles!!! :) So yeah, overall, I've been happy this week because I am content knowing that I am treating myself well by eating right and working out.

Worked out:
6 times! Like I said, though, it was all Butt Bible (and one day of yoga!) in my living room, plus a lot of walking. I should run. I just hate it and it hurts my knees. Suggestions? Motivation?? Imagine myself in those size 6 jeans perhaps?

Confession Time

1) I went for a run and thought about food the whole time
2) Then I did OnDemand Exercise TV's Level 2 of The Butt Bible...have you heard of it? I LOVE it! I'm hoping my rear will rock soon.
3) Here's for the real confession...I'm watching E!...a show about Selena Gomez. I truly didn't know anything about the girl until this show, and she's a cute little kid, but still. Do I really need to know that she was on Barney or that she receives death threats for dating the Biebs? Did I really just refer to Justin Bieber as the Biebs?

This all translates rather easily: I.NEED.A.JOB.

Have a nice Thursday! ;)
