Little Bit of Class Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!

Today I wanted to do something a little different.

For Christmas I received the Emily Post Etiquette Brick...I mean book.
This is the premier source for classiness if I ever saw one.

For real. Anything you could ever imagine requiring manners (so, everything) is covered in this book. It's almost 700 pages. I have a lot of learning to do, especially for Section VIII: Weddings.

Today I'm going to write about just one: Text Speak (pages 236-237).

I seriously love that Emily is rolling with the times in her 18th edition to incorporate some manners in our every day speak.

"Before the advent of qwerty keyboards on phones, it was cumbersome to text using an alphanumeric keypad. 'Text speak' uses many abbreviations for short, commonly used phrases for speed and to avoid thumb fatigue. Again, keep your recipient in mind, but here are some widely used abbreviations:"

Em deserves a pat on the back for adding cell phone etiquette to her rolodex of manners.
It kind of made me laugh (or should I say LOL) that her list was pretty exclusive.
Then again, I guess there aren't too many polite text abbreviations out there.
Did she miss any? What would you add?

I love this book and will definitely highlight more topics on Tuesdays.

Are you curious about how to be classy in certain situations? I bet Emily covers it! Let me know!

OK fine, twist my arm. Here are two classy outfits today:

Swoon.

I love this!! I almost bought that book and loved how it included "modern" etiquette things we need to consider!
